För ett år sedan öppnade galleri urban artroom på friggagatan 21 i Göteborg.
Vi är jätteglada över det varma mottagandet och känner att glädje gör sig bäst på fest. Kom på födelsedagsvernissage och njut av konst, dryck, ljud och glädje.

Thomas C. Chung ställer ut hos oss under december och denna utställning har vernissage kvällen till ära.

Artist's Statement:
Waiting for the arrival of something we can only feel, “….It’ll Soon Be Winter", is an exhibition of an installation, alongside knitted and crocheted sculptures.

Prepared almost one year ago in Australia, this show represents the culmination of a story which first began in Scandinavia nearly five years ago.

Dealing with the reclusive nature of a child hiding within their own imagination, objects which first enveloped their dreams and obsessions are embodied in the forms of bottled, framed and unframed still-lifes.

The artworks are tangible through touch, but deny the senses of smell or taste. Displaying comforts and fears of a world only they could see, a sense of the impossible becomes possible through the eyes of a child.

Artist's Biography:
Born in Hong Kong in 1981, Thomas C. Chung is an Australian artist based in Sydney and Scandinavia.

In 2004, Chung completed his BFA at the College of Fine Arts at the University of New South Wales. For the past 6 years, he has received various artist-in-residency opportunities, travelling to New London (USA), Gothenburg (Sweden), Kemijärvi (Finland), and most recently in Amsterdam (Netherlands).
Since 2008, Chung has exhibited in 10 solo exhibitions and has recently participated in the 2nd Land Art Biennial, which was exhibited at the Mongolian National Modern Art Gallery.
His next solo project begins in early 2013.

På övervåningen hittar du en vägg av Lejonkakan och en av Don Kalif. Två tunga gubbar från Götet. Tunga på olika sätt men kontrasterna skapar ett magiskt rum.

Vi har som vanligt en massa verk av Hades, Semio, Viktor Byhr, Vider mfl.
