SMALL SCALE SCULPTURES
Sculptors Noora and Kimmo Schroderus will bring to Galleri 21 a collection of their small scale sculptures made in between 2007-2011. Noora´s works are highly detailed miniature sculptures presenting people, tools and interiors. Working with small scale offers her a great tool to create bigger settings and situations. Kimmo´s works are more for planning monumental size sculptures, his ideas coming from cars and other mechanical wonders of humankind. For him, small scale offers a possibility to test and develope the idea before moving to larger size.
Noora Schroderus (b. 1982, Pirkkala, Finland) graduated as a sculptor in 2006, and she has been presenting her art works in solo and group exhibitions in Finland since that. During winter 2010-2011 she was working in Artists` Centre Dalsåsen in Norway, where she finished her latest sculptures for this exhibition.
Kimmo Schroderus (b. 1970, Jyväskylä, Finland) has done several exhibitions and public art pieces since his first solo exhibition in 1993. He has also won the biggest Finnish art prize Ars Fennica in 2004. His art work was last seen in Malmö in autumn 2009, when Skånes dansteater was performing the dance piece “Black Water" in Malmö opera house.
