Early Abstraction and the Image of Spirituality
In the Auditorium, Admission free, In English
In the spring of 2013 Moderna Museet is presenting the retrospective exhibition Hilma af Klint - A Pioneer of Abstraction, featuring many works that have never before been shown in public.
Hilma af Klint (1862-1944) left more than 1,000 paintings, watercolours and sketches. Although she exhibited her early representational works, she never showed her abstract paintings during her lifetime. Moderna Museet has invited international curators and researchers to lecture on different aspects of Hilma af Klint and the abstract tradition.
